作家コメント	花魁道中。花魁が美しく着飾って、豪華絢爛煌びやかに咲き誇り、新造や禿を従えて威風堂々と廓の中を練り歩く姿はさぞかし美しかったであろう。しかし、この華やかさの裏側には女の人生の悲哀が隠されている。なぜなら遊女の大半は口減らしや借金のカタに妓楼に売られて来た貧しい家庭の娘だった。「廓」という過酷な状況下で必死に生き抜いた遊女たちの、儚くも美しい生き様を表現した。
作品説明	Procession of the "Oiran" Courtesan; it must have been breathtaking, she was lavishly adorned and radiantly magnificent, and walking with dignified grace through the pleasure quarters accompanied with young attendants like Shinzo and Kamuro. Yet behind this splendor laid deep sorrow, for many courtesans were daughters of the impoverished, sold to brothels as a means of reducing mouths to feed or settling debts. This work expresses the fragile yet beautiful lives of these women, who struggled to survive within the harsh world of the "Kuruwa", pleasure quarters.
